Mariam Nawaz: The Unreachable Successor of the Legacy of Nawaz Sharif

She is now the daughter of Pakistan's previous prime minister. Determination and a firm commitment to the cause, not less as a part of her father's legacy, have left her as an icon symbolizing resolved strength in adversity.

An emerging leader in her own right

But Mariam was not a casual political body. She was the daughter of politicians and politics had been taught to her at a tender stage in her life. For example, her father is three-time Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif; and her mother, too, was Kulsoom Nawaz, who in her own was a leader. This was one step for Mariam and thus she rose to the position in 2012 of head of Prime Minister's Youth Programme through which she had created recognition of leadership traits and vision among Pakistan youth.

One quality which characterised Mariam's political career was always unrelenting ambition to keep and uphold her father's traditions. For instance, when she was in jail and the office had been lost to her father, she couldn't be deterred any further to carry the torch further towards achieving the vision of Pakistan that her father had in his mind.
