Building a Society: The Foundation of a Better Tomorrow

A society could be thought of as an abstract and concrete web of interpersonal relationships, institutions, and norms that mold people's lives. It can be built purposefully through deliberate and continuing efforts by individuals, groups, and governments. In this paper, we look at why building a society is necessary and what aspects can help forge a cohesive society.

Why Building a Society Matters

Properly-functioning societies are vital to ensure its members live healthy and affluent lives. Societies make a framework for socialization; economic and cultural growth. The social institution founded upon the power of solid values and moral principles is capable of instilling feelings of belongingness, trustworthiness, and cooperation, which is basically the very foundation needed by its members to achieve some common objectives and to overcome numerous social challenges.

1. _Shared Values and Principles_: A society built on shared values and principles will unify its members towards a common goal. The values and principles should foster social justice, equality, and human rights. They should be reflected in the laws, policies, and institutions of the society.
